One brand, one kind of work

Wolf Repair Service Los Angeles is an independent service outfit. We work on Wolf cooking equipment and nothing else: ranges and rangetops, gas and induction cooktops, wall and steam ovens, warming drawers and ventilation.

Why the narrow list

A van that carries parts for everything carries parts for nothing. Sticking to one manufacturer's cooking line means the glow bars, spark modules, sensors, relays and membrane panels that actually fail on these machines are already on board — and it means the person who turns up has seen your fault before rather than reading about it in the doorway.

It also means we say no honestly. Refrigeration is a different trade and a different brand; if you ring us about a built-in fridge we will tell you so instead of sending somebody to learn on your kitchen.

How we work in Los Angeles

The route is Toluca Lake, Tarzana, Windsor Square and Beverly Grove, which covers three quite different kinds of kitchen: pre-war houses with original iron gas piping, Valley ranch homes where summer heat is hard on electronics, and tight low-rise blocks where a hood shares a shaft with the neighbours. Those three settings explain most of the calls we take, and they are why we ask what the building is like before we guess at the appliance.

What drives the number

Flat $89 service call covering the visit and full diagnosis, credited against the repair once you approve it.

That visit buys a real diagnosis: gas pressure and burner behaviour checked, ignition and sensors metered, boards tested rather than blamed. What the work costs after that comes down to the part your model takes and how far the machine has to come apart to reach it — which is why every repair is published as a range and never as one number. What we will not do

• Quote a repair down the phone without seeing the machine.
• Condemn a control board because it is the easiest part to sell.
• Leave a range set up so it lights on the bench and not in your kitchen.
• Take on a duct run or a gas-line alteration that belongs to the building trades.
